Musiqa premiere of Sprint

Sprint (2006) was originally composed as a work for percussion ensemble for a commission from Dr. Blake Wilkins and the Moores School of Music Percussion Ensemble. Written to feature the ensemble’s formidable keyboard technique, it was premiered at the 2006 Percussive Arts Society International Conference in Austin, Texas and can be found on the ensemble’s second commercial recording “Not Here, But There” (Albany Records).  This version of Sprint was written for an April 2007 concert given by the Houston-based contemporary chamber ensemble Musiqa.
